Maldonado lives on a ranch on an island in the Paraná River. He lived there his entire life, like his father, like his grandfather. One morning, after many years, his wife, Celia, and his daughter, Victoria, leave him. Maldonado returns to the ranch after a morning of fishing, and they are no longer there. Suddenly, he finds himself alone and unsure of what to do. Life on the island offers no respite: he can't stop fishing, making fires, tending to the animals; the island demands it. Maldonado doesn't abandon his tasks, but a new fragility appears in his life.
