Katja Raganelli’s first portrait of a female filmmaker was dedicated to Agnès Varda whom she first observed while shooting L’une chante, l’autre pas (1977) and then talked to at her home, in her kitchen as well as at the editing table. Her clear vision of this giant of the Nouvelle Vague now resonates as a blueprint for narrating women’s film history for the decades that followed.
