Somewhere along the road between Exit 44, and Buna Vista an instance was chiseled in time, to be forgotten in eternity.
The instance was not of monumental nature, it was an everyday event of mortality.
An almost invisible instance of a lived life and death intersecting with ours; rolling down the road of time, an event not many are gifted the experience of in the everyday, even if it is there every day.
Colaptes auratus, recounts a gestural encounter with mortality and beauty experienced on a family road trip and performed in a cheap motel room, in the Blueridge mountains.
