A documentary filmmaker and his 12-year-old son stay in an abandoned hotel in Lisbon, which is empty like the one in The Shining. The boy is haunted by stories of monsters and ghosts. But during their stay, other ghosts emerge: those of the first Portuguese serial killer, and of men who suddenly go berserk and abandon their families. Starring Ana Moreira, Daniel Blaufuks and Manuel Mozos, the film is a deep reflection on cinema and what it means to be a spectator, exploring the way knowledge is passed on—from father to son, from one culture to another, and through the archives.
