Supermarché

Supermarket. Picnic Area. is a French experimental short film in which a surreal ecological allegory unfolds: a picnic in the wilderness is suddenly disrupted when a herd of wild boars devours the scene. In response, the animals migrate into human territory and raid a supermarket, reversing the natural order. Through this inversion, the film becomes a metaphorical reflection on overconsumption, ecological imbalance, and the blurred boundary between human civilization and animal instinct.

Should we never meet again

A young man crosses Paris, calling on his mobile and talking to himself. He has problems and is looking for shelter for the night. In his mind, he runs through his whole circle of friends, but basically he doesn't dare approach any of them. From time to time, he stops and is then pulled into another dimension – a dimension where no boundaries and formalities exist and where are, very briefly, he makes contact with total strangers. The very simple and functional design of this 'fourth dimension' makes its existence plausible. Everyone could flee to it from time to time.

Come take an avant-garde walk in the Montparnasse of the late 1920's. This district of Paris, filmed in a most unusual way, shows how dedicated it is to art. Visit its art galleries and exhibitions, take a glimpse of famous painter Fujita, of Luis Buñuel eying the legs of beautiful Parisian passing the terrace of the café where he is sitting, of three Italian futurists, Marinetti, Prampolini and Russolo. But besides being a cosmopolitan hub for creators, Montparnasse is also a popular quarter, busy with the lives of its ordinary inhabitants, with its markets and flea markets, with its brats looking at a street circus show. Don't miss the goats crossing the street for the unexpected is always possible. And complete the visit with a good cup of coffee at the Rotonde or at the Sélect on the Boulevard du Montparnasse.

Marseille Vieux Port (Impressionen vom alten Marseille Hafen) is a silent experimental city film by László Moholy-Nagy that captures the rhythms and atmosphere of Marseille's historic Old Port. Through dynamic camerawork and modernist montage, the film observes the bustling Canebière avenue, the harbor's maritime activity, pedestrians, trams, automobiles, and a funeral procession descending toward the waterfront. Rather than documenting the city objectively, Moholy-Nagy creates a visual study of movement, light, industry, and urban modernity that reflects the principles of the Bauhaus and the European city symphony movement.

Through the children's memories, fantasies, and conversations, the film becomes a tender meditation on grief, friendship, and the loss of innocence, revealing how imagination helps them cope with tragedy while preserving Karcsi's memory.

L'hippocampe (The Seahorse)

Examines the sea horse, the only fish that swims upright. We watch it use its prehensile tail to wrap around plants and other sea horses. A frontal bulge houses organs including an air ballast. Three fins propel this fish. We see a female place her eggs in a male's pouch where they are fertilized and nurtured until birth in violent contractions. Inside the pouch are nurturing blood vessels. We then follow the growth of an embryo, greatly magnified: we examine its heart beating and its dorsal fin moving. Young sea horses attach themselves to each other. The film ends with images of many sea horses moving on the ocean floor, superimposed on a horse race.
