The woman likes to walk barefoot and to lie down on rocks. And when she is feeling up to it, she tries to see each instant in a non-verbal way and to live life as rationally as she can. But things remain as hard as ever. She relies on the Korean alcoholic drink of makgeolli to provide a bit of comfort every day.</p>

Of course, Porro is missing. But according to the canine point of view invented by Beatriz Arias, Porro is happy, returned to the sovereignty of his wandering pleasures of rummaging through trash cans or teasing a cat. And this is how the camera (and the spectator), freed from any narrative stake, can let themselves go to search the streets, to intrude into the interiors. And to pick up the soft grace of two young women who exchange a ball on a soccer field under a bright sun. That of the round arms of other women who prepare pies in a small kitchen. That of the smiles that a bingo evening brings together around large mixed tables. Here is a tender and sincere attention paid to simple gestures as to people, in which a nostalgia is also lodged. Whether the latter is for childhood or an immemorial plenitude, what seems to be sought in Volver a recorrer las mismas calles is ultimately not so much a dog as the way of being to grasp the fragile and vibrant poetry of the moment. Beatriz Arias composes an ode to the stray dog , and in doing so to wandering, the only one capable of putting us on the path of encounter and joy, of random surges "ahead of ourselves".</p>

A work suffused with ideas and strong ties to Saint Phalle’s work in other media (sculpture, painting, assemblage, etc.), <em>Un rêve plus long que la nuit</em> is both an exemplary artist’s film and an underseen gem of 1970s French avant-garde cinema.</p>

In REPORTAJE we see a political meeting of peasants: A rag-doll is burnt in an act of collective exorcism – banned. In RETORNAR A BARACOA we go to a distant and inaccessible place. Between the tradition and the new social order, the small town seems to be a prison with a park – banned. COFFEA ARÁBIGA was commanded as a propaganda documentary to show how to sow coffee around Havana. In fact, Guillén Landrián made a didactic film, exhibited but banned as soon as the coffee plan collapsed. (Manuel Zayas)</p>

At the time that Cuban director Sara Gómez shot this film, the island was part of the La Habana Province; it was a place where young people from Havana worked temporarily or permanently on collective farms. Gómez visits the residents with her 16mm camera and talks to them about their dreams and ideas.</p> <p>Among them 17-year-old Maria, who works on the land in the morning, but also has the opportunity to train to become a hairdresser. A cowboy tries to bring a touch of culture to the island with a theater performance in the evening, an ex-priest now works with cows and talks about his doubts and difficulties. There are also young people in a re-education program.</p> <p>This black-and-white film provides a unique picture of the proud islanders, who until then had rarely been asked for their opinions. Occasionally, Gómez herself appears to conduct the interviews, which seems to put her subjects at ease. On the Other Island offers a unique insight into the lives, dreams and thoughts of ordinary Cubans.</p>

After a rakish, libertine lawyer (Mark Ruffalo) whisks her away to see the world, Bella comes to understand her place in it, allowing us to bear witness to her journey of self-actualization. At once poignant and grotesque, <em>Poor Things</em>, based on a 1992 novel by Alasdair Gray, is a punkish update of the <em>Frankenstein</em> story that becomes a deeply feminist fairy tale about women taking back control of their own bodies and minds.</p>
