About

Patrick Hough (b. 1989, Offaly, IE) is a visual artist based in London. Incorporating moving image, photography, and installation, Hough’s work excavates the increasingly entangled nature of archeological, geological, and ecological worlds. Hough questions the relationship between humans and objects (both virtual and physical) and often uses props or artefacts to reference specific incidents from a range of cultural histories. He is a recipient of the 2017 Jerwood / FVU Awards and the 2017 PLASTIK Award. Recent exhibitions include The Two Faces of Tomorrow, Cork International Film Festival (IE); The Black River of Herself, Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, Sunderland (UK); and The Museum of Ancient History, UCD Classical Museum, Dublin (IE).
