ZOON

Residing in a dark swamp at the bottom of a nocturnal forest, a group of gleaming axolotls pursue their lustful games. The creatures relish in nuzzling one another and nibbling their companions’ limbs. Meanwhile, a much larger, two-legged forest inhabitant walks by and notices the diminutive community. He reaches down and gobbles one of the small shimmering creatures with no hesitation. The savory snack proves to be a delicious delight for his fellows as well, and before long, the whole clan is guzzling axolotl after axolotl. To their great astonishment, the epicures soon ascend weightlessly into the air and a cheerful game between the branches begins. As their plump bodies rise higher and higher, they intuitively partake in a choral song. Their voices reverberate in the ethereal space above the treetops as they gaze into the rising sun’s glaring light. Tears of joy stream down their soft cheeks; they sing and hold each other tightly while continuing to rise blissfully to even greater heights until they humbly evaporate.
