European wildlife is under threat like never before. The Carpathians are becoming their last refuge. Of all the mountain ranges in Europe, the Carpathians are home to the most virgin forests, the largest populations of bears, wolves and lynxes, and a variety of other amazing creatures. An episode of the series called Summer shows how they survive in this last bastion of nature during this period. Through their individual stories, we can better understand the connection between animal life and the entire ecosystem of the Carpathians.
