In the Argentine Pampas, all life seems to be on hold. The prolonged drought is killing livestock and threatening the existence of Omar, a rancher, his nonagenarian mother, and Libertad, his four-year-old granddaughter. Far from the folkloric imagery of gauchos, Alexis Franco confronts the harshness and fragility of a condition in this Western set in the Anthropocene.
