Within an office at the Lanyu radioactive waste storage facility, a promotional video plays for visitors to Taiwan's Orchid Island. The site houses 100,000 barrels of nuclear waste, placed there in the 1980s without the informed consent of the island's indigenous Tao community. Artist David Scott Kessler has digitally modeled native moss species from Lanyu and animated them over the original footage, accompanied by field recordings captured on the island. The resulting work transforms institutional messaging into an evolving visual field where organic forms and ambient sound reclaim the narrative space, creating a meditative intersection between documentation and digital intervention.
