How venepuncture can be practised safely. The film is aimed at new practitioners to the technique. A range of syringes are shown in a wooden box. Using a basic syringe can be problematic as blood can be drawn into the vial (amply demonstrated). Glass syringes from the US (Luer type) are shown to be ideal; it has a glass eccentric nozzle. Practising on veins ahead of time is recommended. Proper care of the syringes is shown. The glass syringes are wrapped in gauze before sterilisation.
