Born into one family; we create others but connections remain fragile. A former football player from Ohio teaches ballet at a downtown Manhattan YMCA. Alienated from his family, he builds a new one through dance. Depicted through the personal journey of the director who becomes a member of the tight-knit community, we watch her rediscover old strengths and find new ones as she offers her story about John.
