Between the Molise and Calvairate neighborhoods in Milan, on Via Monte Ortigara, there is a Platanus x acerifolia — a plane tree. The plane tree is 25 meters tall, weighs 110 tons, and is between 80 and 100 years old. In 2026, the new European Library of Information and Culture, Nuova BEIC, will be built on the site. To save the tree, the decision was made to transplant it to the future location of the BEIC plaza. The plane tree needs to be moved 72 meters.
