The Fingertip Galaxy is a collaborative artwork created by artist Lisa Pettibone and scientist Tom Kitching (UCL) for ESA's Euclid Mission telescope. Involving over 250 scientists and engineers in 2019, the artwork touches on the spirit of the mission and the many personal contributions of the international Euclid Mission Consortium. The mission will image billions of galaxies to explore the nature of dark matter and dark energy in the universe. Commenting on the meaning and making of the plaque, the film includes poetry read by Simon Barraclough written for the mission. Euclid will launch in July 2023.
