Since 2015, the Landless Workers' Movement has been occupying the land of an indebted sugarcane factory to push for its redistribution through agrarian reform. Abuela and her fellow campers are fighting to conquer a small portion of the land where they can settle and live a self-sustaining life, growing agroecological crops in a newly woven peasant community they envision in their dreams.
