Computers have evolved to become an essential part of the music industry: in the last century, musical composition, instrumentation, distribution and consumption have all been impacted by advances in computer technology.

Quantum computing offers the potential for a further technological leap.

As this new era of computing looms, Eduardo Reck Miranda (editor of “Quantum Computer Music: Foundations, Methods and Advanced Concepts”) presents a real time musical performance linking performers in London's Goethe Institut with IBM's quantum computer in New York.

Eduardo Reck Miranda’s distinctive music is informed by his unique background as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) scientist and classically trained composer. He is internationally known for his research in neurotechnology for music and is championing investigation into quantum computing for musical creativity. Currently, he is a professor at the University of Plymouth, UK, where he leads the Interdisciplinary Centre for Computer Music Research (ICCMR).
