Chanasorn Chaikitiporn focuses on the origins of the idea of film archiving in Thailand by examining the work of Dome Sukvong, founder of the Thai Film Archive. This includes his essays, books, letters, memoirs and reports, which read by the archive staff. We uncover the oldest moving images in Thailand, from the Topical Film Service of the Royal State Railways—the national film production centre during the absolute monarchy era—, which inspired the creation of a national archive.
