Us 4 IRIOMOTE the Movie is a documentary journey through the natural and cultural life of Iriomote Island, registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. Filmed over three years, it captures the island’s seasons, rituals, and biodiversity while following Kinsei and Akiko Ishigaki, who dedicate their lives to preserving ancestral traditions, textile crafts, and ecological knowledge. Alongside their story, the film reflects on mangrove conservation, the endangered Iriomote wildcat, pollution, and over-tourism, inviting viewers to consider what it means to live in symbiosis with nature.
