Marine biologist Dr. Denise Herzing leads over three decades of in-water research with a community of Atlantic spotted dolphins in the Bahamas. Using non-invasive methods, video and hydrophone arrays, and AI-driven analysis, she investigates dolphin vocal patterns—signature whistles, burst pulses, and echolocation—to decipher structural elements of their communication and strive toward two-way interaction using an underwater interface called CHAT.
