A pesar de todo lleva una vida modesta, dedicada intensamente a su labor científica y a su afición, la observación astrológica, para lo cual compra un telescopio a costa de los ahorros de Silveria. Concesión del Premio Nobel en 1906 y actos en la Academia Sueca de entrega de los Premios, discursos y banquete con asistencia de los monarcas suecos. Continuación de las clases en la Universidad de Madrid, muerte de su esposa y aislamiento en sus últimos años a causa de la sordera. Ochenta aniversario de Cajal.
