This feature-length film is part of Greaves’ final major project, which included 12 video modules, a teaching guide and a website. The project explores and honours the many accomplishments of Bunche, a United Nations diplomat and chief drafter of the UN Charter, who won the Nobel Peace Prize for brokering an armistice between Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon in 1950. This documentary about Bunche, produced for PBS, was the last of a series of films that Greaves made to document the history of African-American contributions to American and world culture.
