Pierre Guyotat, at home, between 2002 and 2009: scenes from the life of a writer. First, he organizes his library: each book is subject to commentary, reminiscences, and questioning. Then we see him at work, preparing with an assistant the edition of his Notebooks based on manuscripts from the 1960s. Finally, we find him in his room, sitting on his bed, discussing the Kings of France and then developing a text aloud, in a captivating self-dictation. Because Pierre Guyotat gives himself without restraint or embellishment to the unadorned attention of Jacques Kébadian, this most precious film allows us to experience as rarely before the intimacy of a writer's life: his work and his passion.
