With respect and curiosity, this film follows two central characters: Nannan, a woman with cerebral palsy, and Yao, the founder of a rural disability care facility. After facing discrimination and losing her adoptive mother to suicide, Nannan finds new purpose at the facility. Through rehabilitation activities and helping others, she builds meaningful relationships. Yao's dedication shows through her interactions with residents, culminating in a memorable trip to the sea. Our Existence is a Miracle authentically portrays the challenges and joys of disabled individuals in rural China – emphasising a sense of community and resilience.
