In the torpor of a summer afternoon with suspended temporality, crushed by sunlight, falsely deserted spaces are revealed. Large fixed shots that come to life with insistent figures but seem lost in the places: here dogs on a walk, there a man planted as much in as in front of the landscape, or another crossing the frame at a running pace. From one close-up to the next, these sketches with a burlesque tone seem to haunt the city as much as to inhabit the dreams of the character who lives at the heart of the film: Mr. Tang, in his small neighborhood shop. Without any indication of location, over the course of this survey a form of generic and singular mental map of this periphery gradually takes shape.
