The Tonga mission takes you aboard the Atalante, a French oceanographic vessel, in search of shallow-water volcanoes. Led by oceanographers Sophie Bonnet (IRD) and Cécile Guieu (CNRS), the expedition studies the impact of hydrothermal fluids on marine life, ocean productivity, and climate.
