In early 2022, Lithuanian filmmaker Mantas Kvedaravičius returned to war‑torn Mariupol, Ukraine, to document life under siege. Using observational footage captured in a makeshift church refuge, the film eschews politics in favor of intimate human detail—portraits of resilience, communal rituals, and stark beauty amid destruction. Co‑edited posthumously with his partner Hanna Bilobrova and editor Dounia Sichov after his death at the hands of Russian forces, Mariupolis 2 is both elegy and testament.
