Hana, a woman in her thirties training as a shepherd, lives an isolated life tending a flock of sheep in the mountains along the French-Italian border. When she discovers the body of a deceased migrant, the encounter forces her to confront her family's past and gradually opens her to the world she has long kept at a distance.
