Eugène Deslaw, an experimental filmmaker of Ukrainian origin, produced a film-poem on the neo-Baudelairian theme of city lights. Against a backdrop of the night sky, he focuses the film on windows, streetlights and illuminated signs in Paris, Berlin, London and Prague. “The advertising of adverts, the bright projection of the lights, the torrential blaze of a city, that’s what tempted me.” (Eugène Deslaw)
