Le belle estati, a film directed by Mauro Santini, is a documentary that tells the story of Gina, Guido, Amelia, Poli, Oreste Pieretto, all united by one thing: they are characters taken from two novels by Cesare Pavese, La bella estate and Il devil on the hills. They come to life from the pages of books to dialogue with each other, alternating Pavese's narratives with the voices and faces of the students of an art high school, mixing until they become a single flow of thoughts.
