Since the 13th century, the greatest archaeological enigma has fascinated generations of adventurers, scientists and historians: somewhere in Mongolia lies the tomb of Genghis Khan, the greatest conqueror of all time. But where exactly? By deciphering confidential ancient texts and studying the medieval funeral rites of Eurasia, a French team has found the trail of the Mongol emperor eight centuries after his death. All the clues point to a sacred area that is off-limits: "The Great Wild North". Professor Giscard, one of the fathers of Mongolian archaeology, was able to enter this sanctuary with a scientific team to carry out an extraordinary investigation mission. New technologies adapted to a different practice of archaeology now make it possible to locate the tomb of Genghis Khan without intrusion, without destruction, without even striking a single blow of a pickaxe.
