Khartoum Eclipse is a short documentary science film produced in 1952, capturing the total solar eclipse that occurred over Khartoum, Sudan, on February 25, 1952. The film documents the efforts of astronomers and scientists who traveled to Khartoum to observe and study the eclipse. The footage includes scenes of the desert landscape, the setup of telescopic equipment, and the eclipse itself. Notably, French astronomer Bernard Lyot, known for inventing the coronagraph, participated in the expedition and tragically passed away shortly after due to a heart attack.
