Kain, a charming and outgoing man on the autism spectrum, longs to prove he can live independently and be accepted as “normal” in society. He starts taking driving lessons as a way to prove his worth. There he meets Fré, a free-spirited young woman drawn to his honesty and sincerity, qualities rare in her polished world. Their bond deepens, and when Fré becomes pregnant, Kain seizes the chance to build the “normal” life he has always imagined. Defying his father’s warnings, Kain leaves his care home, saying goodbye to his autistic roommates who are like family. But the demands and judgments of the outside world soon push him to a breaking point. Kain realizes he cannot force himself into society’s mold and must learn a lesson of self-acceptance, while Fré learns that “normal” is never what it seems.
