Orkney was both home and muse for George Mackay Brown. His words are folded into harbours, kirkyards, and the wind off Hamnavoe. This film follows a first journey to the islands, carrying his voice as a quiet companion. Shot on 16mm, it gathers impressions of streets, stones, and tides, where past and present drift together, and where the life of a poet cannot be separated from the life of the place, still visible in the traces left behind. This is not a portrait of a poet, but of the islands that made him.
