The documentary directing debut by Hanka Brulinska "Flickering Fireflies" is a cinematic experiment. The film was made for 10 years. The director used psychodrama in it, thanks to which the main character was truly healed in body and soul. The film has an complex genesis. The role of the protagonist - himself - is played by a homeless, fallen actor. Hanka Brulinska, a film director and actress at the same time, tells the actor's story as of a creative person who is deprived of the possibility to create and becomes himself a work of art shaped through his suffering. The film demonstrates the complexity of human nature and the ambiguity of choices which one makes during one's life. It makes us aware that our lives are constantly at the verge of breaking. And it is not always only up to us whether we lean towards the light or the darkness.
