Next, the spica plaster method for treating tuberculosis in the hip joint is demonstrated on a young boy. A single layer of plaster is applied as a base for the plaster slabs. The plaster is reinforced at the hip. The patient is suspended above a table horizontally. An animated illustration shows where the plaster slabs will be applied. A strut is used to strengthen the plaster. The patient is seen lying on a drying frame.
