This film looks at how effective family planning can help to prevent over-population in the UK. It begins with 'A Consultant Gynaecologist' describing how population growth will affect all our lives leading to less desirbable housing, over-crowded schools and a stretched health service. Professor Andrew B. Semple CBE, Medical Officer of Health, Liverpool, talks further about these problems - his account is illustrated by rather bleakly portrayed scenes of urban Liverpool. He says family planning is essential and describes how he is attempting to make it work in Liverpool. 'A Female General Practitioner', out and about in her car in High Wycombe, describes how hard it can be to get women to use contraception. The film ends with a wonderful talk on the kinds of contraception available, with examples, by Aviva Wiseman, Medical Officer for the Family Planning Association.
