In a film epistolary to French director Jean Vigo, Lynne Sachs reflects on his 1933 classic "Zero for Conduct ," in which schoolchildren wage an anarchist rebellion against their authoritarian teachers. Thinking back to the January 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol by right-wing activists, Sachs wonders how an innocent game or a calculated protest can so quickly descend into chaos and violence.
