Endometriosis is a chronic disease that affects approximately one in ten women, yet its symptoms are often downplayed and the disease remains underdiagnosed. Painful and heavy menstruation or chronic lower abdominal pain are often considered "normal", and the path to diagnosis takes an average of 7 to 10 years. The documentary follows several women who are learning to live with constant pain, while also opening up the topic of groundbreaking scientific research, from the development of a saliva diagnostic test to a non-invasive ultrasound method that could fundamentally improve treatment options.
