Being a small cog in the system can make you feel powerless, paralyzed. Yet, there are some "ordinary people" who don't give up shaping the world to their liking, even a little. These are the people film director Daniela Delgado Viteri calls "good walkers." They refuse to follow prescribed routes and beaten paths. They take shortcuts. Viteri's mosaic of fictional interviews explores five examples of resistance through subversion. One involves inviting tourists to visit his shabby, exotic cabin and making them pay an exorbitant price for the pleasure. Another involves attending a political demonstration to dance and eat as many free sandwiches as possible. The footage, which is as messy as the life it documents, was filmed in Peru and Ecuador, where most of the population can expect very little from the powers that be.
