Animating the World, Gestures for A Plague Season, or Goodbye Earth(works) (working draft) is a series of hundreds of small looping and mostly black and white films (each under one minute) that began in the Spring of 2020 shortly after the Coronavirus began to spread across North America. The films ritualize a practice of marking time, space, and movement and an embodiment of words like “weight” and “gravity” in reference to the heaviness that comes with reflecting on the real possibility that our species might be on the edge of extinction.
