How do we fall in love? Why do we fall in love? How do we find love? How far can we go for love? Love, Relationships, Babies looks at some of these eternal questions that never cease to fascinate us. Through scientific and sometimes not-so-scientific experiments, these four films show the human’s efforts to deal with all kinds of love, romance, attraction, intimacy, relationships, and reproduction.

LOVE is a short film describing affection in 3 different chapters, through an impact on a distant solar system. Abstract haiku-like situations reveal the change in atmosphere on one planet, caused by the change of gravity and light. This pulsing planet makes the inhabitants become one with each other in various ways.
The Love Competition (Brent Hoff, USA, 2012)
Because “Love is a feeling you have for someone you have feelings about.” In order to find out if it’s possible for one person to love more than another Brent Hoff teamed up with neuroscientists at Stanford University to test seven contestants’ ability to love using an fMRI to monitor brain activity while the contestants focused on loving thoughts.

Özge Calafato has worked for the Abu Dhabi Film Festival (ADFF) as Programming Manager and served as a selection committee member for the SANAD Development and Post-Production Fund. She has also worked as a programmer and consultant for a number film festivals and institutions including Documentarist, DOK Leipzig, Doha Film Institute, DokuFest, Oslo Arab Film Days, The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture, Punto de Vista, Imagine Science Film Festival, Cinema Akil and Birds Eye View. She is a co-founder and project director of the UAE National Film Library and Archive and a member of the publications committee for the online literary magazine altZine.net and e-book publisher altKitap.net. She currently works as the Project Manager for the Akkasah: Center for Photography at NYU Abu Dhabi and as Programming Consultant for the Imagine Science Film Festival.
