Colombian filmmaker and photographer. Gabriela has spent the last 5 years living in Ecuador where she has worked on various documentaries that aim to capture the relationship between its residents and the surrounding nature. In 2021 she debuted as a director with her first short film, Dancing with the Mantas, which showed the intimate connection between oceanic giant manta rays and three local female freedivers. She worked as production assistant on the short film, Los Dos Lados de la Tortuga, which premiered at the Rotterdam Festival (IFFR) in the Tiger Shorts Competition 2024.

 

Currently, she is working on a scientific documentary led by women exploring the Galapagos Islands, in hand with local scientists, The Galapagos National Park and Cornell University.
