About

I am a Purépecha biologist from Michoacán, México. I'm permanently awed at the emergence and evolution of life and how living systems manifest creativity in the natural world. I do research in evolutionary biology and complex systems at the Santa Fe Institute, as an Omidyar Complexity Fellow, and also volunteer at Freedom University as a Natural Sciences faculty. I'm a science communicator, and have directed/produced interviews and short films:

The Origins and Nature of Life | Interview with Eric Smith | Biomusings from Biomusings on Vimeo.

The Evolution of Cooperation | Interview with Sarah Brosnan | Biomusings from Biomusings on Vimeo.
