About

I believe that technology can help people foster happy and healthy relationships with themselves and others. Originally a sound designer for film, I am now a Doctor of Audiology focusing on hearing health and science, hearing technologies, and how to live well with rising noise levels.

I grew up playing violin and piano in orchestras and rock bands.  After spending my undergraduate years recording music, I caught the travel bug and worked as a dance instructor in Taiwan, a figure skater in France and Germany, and started a tea business in Denver, CO.  I moved to New York City in 2005, immersing myself in the world of sound and technology via NYU.

In 2009, I opened an audio post production studio in the Lower East Side of NYC. Sensaphonics, a hearing wellness and custom in-ear monitor company, brought me out to Chicago in 2017.  My location sound recording and post-production sound work has been featured in Sundance, Tribeca, SXSW, VH1, PBS, Comedy Central and more. I taught sound at the Tisch Graduate Film School for three years, worked at lean and mean sound library company Pro Sound Effects for five and was faculty at NYU’s Steinhardt Graduate Music Technology program for over six. I have a master’s degree in Music Technology from NYU, at that time focusing on Bluetooth computer music controller design.

Central NY winters enticed me back to my hometown where I currently provide concierge hearing health services.  Mentors Michael Santucci and Heather Malyuk continue to show me the way…
