‘Wateriness 2’ is part of a series of short experimental films made at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, UK, during a residency with Invisible Flock. They combine Lidar scanning footage, photogrammetry footage captured by a drone and video. Lidar technologies are typically used to scan rock formations and are not designed to scan water. I wanted to push the technology to its limits and explore whether it could capture ‘wateriness’.
