Riccardo Santalucia tinkers inside several video game spaces (including DayZ) in order to customise his own story, which is very different in sensibility from the usual, violent ‘shooter’ games and horrific zombie apocalypses. These placid zombies, like the central narrator, seek a haven where they can safely sing and talk. But will the roaming military gangs, lone rogues and deadly ‘phasmid’ insects of the digital world ever leave them in peace? A stinging political allegory.
