Fred, a daring and exuberant seventeen-year-old from Sweden, arrives in Trieste in September 2007 to attend her final year at a technical high school. As the only girl in an all‑male class, she quickly disrupts the intimate friendship of three local boys—Antero, Pasini, and Mitis—each of whom secretly desires her. Fred yearns to be accepted but finds that belonging requires increasingly painful personal compromises. Her presence forces the boys to confront loyalty, rivalry, and adolescent vulnerability. Set against the shifting cultural moment of Trieste just after its entry into Schengen, the film becomes a poignant coming‑of‑age tale about identity, desire, and transformation.
