“Travels in Reality” is an experimental art film that explores reality and consciousness, taking viewers on a journey through time, space, and awareness. It uses ideas from quantum mechanics and excerpts from books and poems as a starting point to explore this theme. Scientific ideas and theories not only serve as tools for understanding the world at a technical level but also act as powerful metaphors that can inspire and expand our understanding of what reality and consciousness truly are.

I believe that scientific concepts provide us with a framework for thinking that can open new ways of perceiving our existence and interaction with the world. The scientific concepts do not need to be understood in their full complexity to be meaningful. They trigger the imagination and invite us to think beyond the conventional, and to explore multiple ways to experience and interpret the world.

“Travels In Reality” is structured like a traditional documentary, where an omniscient narrator explains and informs the viewers. Film clips serve as visual illustrations of the narrative, complementing and expanding the narrator’s words. Technically, the film draws from experimental filmmaking traditions, where effects and visual expressions are created directly in-camera rather than in editing software.  However, I have also used stock media, employed digital visual effects on the clips, and artificial intelligence for processing the narrator’s voice and soundtrack. This creates a contrast between the so-called “authentic” and the so-called “fictive,” illustrating a sense of surrealism and enhancing the film’s thematic depth.

“Travels in Reality” invites viewers to question, to doubt what they think they know, and open themselves to new perspectives. The film encourages looking beyond the obvious and diving deeper into the mysteries that surround us. It serves as both an invitation to introspection and a challenge to explore the unknown.
