In the year 2084, Douglas Quaid, a construction worker on Earth, is plagued by recurring dreams of Mars. Seeking adventure, he visits Rekall, a company that implants artificial memories, to receive a memory of a vacation on Mars as a secret agent. However, the procedure uncovers suppressed memories, revealing Quaid's true identity as Carl Hauser, a former operative involved in a Martian rebellion. Pursued by relentless forces, including his own wife Lori, Quaid journeys to Mars to uncover his past and confront the oppressive regime of Vilos Cohaagen. The film explores themes of reality versus illusion, identity, and authoritarian control.
